Treacherous Heart marked Balmingilead Movie Productions' debut as a
feature film studio a drama that became the first African-Canadian
feature film to premiere at Cineplex Chinook Centre Calgary and Metro
Cinema Edmonton. Set against the tension between tradition and
ambition, the film follows a family forced to confront old loyalties
when a long-buried secret threatens to unravel everything they've
built. It was a small production with a large ambition: to prove
that stories rooted in faith and family could stand shoulder to
shoulder with any studio picture on a Canadian cinema screen.
